The idea for this site came from Seth Godin's blog post about "Stuck Systems".

Seth outlined 2 requirements:

1. A bibliography based on looking up the data online
2. Webpage that would allow the reader/teacher to see the books, their covers, links to Amazon or other online references.

The Details

Getting the appropriate data to generate the citations was difficult as few databases have complete, or organized information, particularly the publisher location. If the location is unavailable, it will say "City".

This website is the start of a new paradigm of citing sources. Printed list of sources will always be essential, but this website will become the supplement. Short, permanent, easy URLs will provide:

The Bandit system supports many authentication methods and provides user-centric credential management. On this base of a common identity model, Bandit is building additional services needed for Role Based Access Control (RBAC) and for the emission of records to verify compliance with higher level policies.

The Bandit community does not intend to do this in isolation. We are doing our part to build foundational components of the emerging identity fabric. FreeMarker : A template engine

FreeMarker is a "template engine"; a generic tool to generate text output (anything from HTML to autogenerated source code) based on templates. It's a Java package, a class library for Java programmers. It's not an application for end-users in itself, but something that programmers can embed into their products.

FreeMarker is designed to be practical for the generation of HTML Web pages, particularly by servlet-based applications following the MVC (Model View Controller) pattern. The idea behind using the MVC pattern for dynamic Web pages is that you separate the designers (HTML authors) from the programmers. Everybody works on what they are good at. Designers can change the appearance of a page without programmers having to change or recompile code, because the application logic (Java programs) and page design (FreeMarker templates) are separated. Templates do not become polluted with complex program fragments. This separation is useful even for projects where the programmer and the HMTL page author is the same person, since it helps to keep the application clear and easily maintainable.

Redet is a tool for developing and executing regular expressions using any of more than 40 search programs, editors, and programming languages, intended both for developing regular expressions for use elsewhere and as a search tool in its own right. For each program in each locale, a palette showing the available constructs is provided. The properties of each program are determined by runtime tests, which guarantees that they will be correct for the program version and locale. Additional features include persistent history, extensive help, a variety of character entry tools, and the ability to change locale while running. Redet is highly configurable and fully supports Unicode.
